As we waited out back for Mario to arrive and open the gate for us, the original bass player from Alice in Chains walks out of the rehab across the alley from the studio and says to us "so, are you guys gonna fucking rock out or what?" Naturally we respond "fuck yeah!" as he proceeds down the alley with a fist pump. Not sure what if anything this has to do with our experience, but I think it may have inspired the bass fill at about a minute thirty into the track.
We started at noon with a concept of doing this cover by John Murphy from the 28 Days Later soundtrack (no relation to Alice in Chains), and with the help of Mario and everyone else at Black Box we were able to turn it into a reality, and wrap it up before the sun even set. Much respect to what these guys have going on down there.
